How are contractors verified?
Every contractor on RenovateHub goes through a thorough verification process. We check their business license, liability insurance, WSIB coverage, and professional references before they can submit quotes on the platform.
How does escrow payment work?
When you accept a quote, the project is divided into milestones. You fund each milestone in advance, and the money is held securely by Stripe. Funds are only released to the contractor when you approve the completed work for that milestone.
What if I'm not happy with the work?
If the completed work doesn't meet the agreed-upon standards, you can request revisions or open a dispute through our platform. Our dispute resolution team will review the case and help reach a fair outcome. Escrow funds remain protected during this process.
How many quotes will I receive?
Most projects receive 3–5 quotes from qualified contractors within a few days of posting. The exact number depends on your project type, location, and budget.
What types of projects can I post?
You can post virtually any home renovation project — kitchens, bathrooms, basements, roofing, decks, painting, flooring, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, and more. If you're unsure, just post your project and our team will help match you with the right contractors.
How much does RenovateHub charge?

Can I communicate directly with contractors?
Yes! Once a contractor submits a quote on your project, you can communicate directly with them through our built-in messaging system to discuss project details, ask questions, and negotiate terms.
